The world has gone digital and as a result we are now able to manage and maintain a lot of personal data and information on people. In the past, keeping this information and data safe, secure and accurate was a challenge. Today, with the use of pharmacy software systems we are able to maintain a lot of information that couldn’t be done before.
The first thing that you want to do is ensure that everything that you do is spelled correctly. If items are not spelled correctly then it will be difficult to find them. When keeping track of names and addresses as well as other information, making sure that it is spelled correctly, isn’t abbreviated and put into the systems the same way is vital to accuracy.
After spelling you want to make sure that your qualities are correct. You want to make sure that you are giving the correct dosage of the medications as well as giving the patients the right number of pills. If you get this messed up, then people can become very sick or even die. If you give a higher dosage than a body can handle then your body will reject it, go into shock or worse.
New vs Old information
You want to make sure that you don’t have a lot of outdated information. If you are working with a patient over a long period of time, a lot of the information will become outdated and not relevant. When this happens, you want to be able to remove that information or at least hide it from being accessed unless specifically needed.
Understanding your systems
Finally, it all comes down to you understanding your systems and knowing how they work and what they are capable of doing. When using technology, we are only as good as the tools we use. So, take your time and learn the tools. When you do, the world is limitless.
